Today, Variety announced that The Staircase creator Antonio Campos has been tapped to showrun the upcoming Arkham Asylum spin-off series in The Batman universe. Director Matt Reeves initially tried to create a Gotham PD series, but it morphed into Arkham Asylum. Though it should be noted, they may revisit Gotham PD anyway. This is the second spin-off show set in his Batman universe after The Penguin, which begins filming in January. It’s unknown what Arkham Asylum will be about, but Reeves described it as a horror series. Other projects in early development include Clayface, Professor Pyg, and Scarcrow.
