Círdan the Shipwright Elf Will Appear in ‘The Rings of Power’ Season 2

Today, will speaking with TIME Magazine co-showrunner J.D Payne reveals that one of the oldest elves in Middle-Earth is going to appear in season 2 of The Rings of Power. “We don’t want to give too much away, but one character we’re excited for folks to meet in Season 2 is Círdan the Shipwright. In the time of our story, he’s the oldest of all known elves in Middle-earth—in fact he lived so long, he had a beard.” The character made a brief cameo in The Fellowship of the Rings prologue and the final moments of The Return of the King on the ship in The Grey Havens. He was originally played by actor Michael Elsworth. It’s unknown who will play the character but season 2 has long been in production in the UK.
