Director Leigh Whannell To Helm ‘The Green Hornet & Kato’ at Universal Pictures

Today, Deadline announced that director Leigh Whannell is in final talks to helm the upcoming Green Hornet and Kato at Universal Pictures. He is best known for helping work on major horror films including Saw and The Invisible Man. The film will be a reboot of the 2011 film starring Seth Rogen & Jay Chou and the 1960s television program starring Bruce Lee. Longtime screenwriter David Koepp submitted a script earlier this year to the studio. Michael Helfant and Bradley Gallo acquired control of the motion picture franchise in 2020 before moving forward at Universal.
