Today, a new listing on IMDB had actor C.S Lee join the cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender as Avatar Roku. Fans have long wondered if the character would appear in the live-action Netflix series as Roku is the Avatar that preceded Aang (played by Gordon Cormier) and allows the Fire Nation to wage war on the world. He is seen throughout the series as Aang’s spirit guide, much like how Obi-Wan Kenobi guides Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy as a force ghost.
Avatar News (followed by the actor himself on Instagram via Reddit) has since announced that he has indeed been cast in the role of Roku. Lee has already completed filming his scenes for the series and has since left Vancouver for another show filming in Vietnam. He joins the previously announced Yvonne Chapman, cast in December as Avatar Kyoshi. We at Knight Edge Media also revealed last month a casting call had gone out for Avatar Kuruk. Lee is best known for his role on Showtime’s Dexter and Power. Albert Kim had been tapped to write and showrun the series for the streaming service.
Avatar: The Last Airbender will stream exclusively on Netflix
