‘IT’ Prequel ‘Welcome to Derry’ TV Series In Development at HBO Max

Today, Variety announced that a prequel to the hit film series IT is in early development at HBO Max. The series will follow Derry in the 1960s but also a deeper story into how Pennywise was first defeated by the Shokopiwah tribe. Original director Andy Muschietti will serve as an executive producer but may also direct the first episode. The series will be titled Welcome to Derry. Jason Fuchs will also help develop the series with an open writers room.
