Recently, our friends over at The Illuminerdi revealed that Aquaman star Jason Momoa has been offered the role of Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The character’s species made an appearance at the beginning of the original film before Sonic ended up on earth. He was always set to make an appearance in the sequel alongside Tails. It’s unknown at this time if Jason Momoa has signed on.

The studio also looked at Dwayne Johnson to voice the character but he has since passed on the role. They do still want Johnson to voice a future character if the actor has the time. Ben Schwartz will return to voice Sonic with Jim Carrey returning as Doctor Robotnik. Production begins soon under the working title Emerald City.
