Today, Variety announced that Simon Kinberg will write and produce a rebooted Battlestar Galactica film. Kinberg recently wrote and directed Dark Phoniex for 20th Century Fox. Kinberg was the main X-Men screenwriter throughout the earlier 2000s, as well as help write episodes of Star Wars: Rebels for Disney. The Batman and War for the Planet of the Apes producer Dylan Clark will also produce the reboot. Kinberg is not looking to directing Battlestar Galactica.

“‘Battlestar Galactica’ is one of the holy grails in science fiction, and I couldn’t be more excited about bringing something new to the franchise while honoring what’s made it so iconic and enduring.
