‘Battlestar Galactica’ Taps Derek Simonds As Showrunner

Today, writer Derek Simonds has been tapped as showrunner of the upcoming Peacock reboot series, Battlestar Galactica. Simonds is best known for writing the series The Sinner. The upcoming reboot series has been in development since 2019 by Mr.Robot writer Sam Esmail. Esmail will stay on as producer under his Esmail Corp production banner alongside Chad Hamilton and UCP. At one point, Simon Kinberg was gonna write a feature film, but it has since been shelved for a series.
