Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II Join ‘Furiosa’

Earlier this year we had heard that director Geroge Miller had begun discussions with New Mutants star Anya Taylor-Joy on a Mad Max:  Fury Road prequel Furiosa. Today, Deadline confirmed that Ana Taylor-Joy has joined the cast as the lead role made famous by Charlize Theron. Chris Hemsworth joins the cast as Dementus which was first reported by The IllumiNerdi in August.

Tom Hardy played Mad Max himself in Fury Road with Mel Gibson in the previous installments. While this is a Mad Max spin-off, he doesn’t appear to be featured in the film. Lastly, Watchmen and Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will also be joining the cast in an unknown role. Miller also reteamed with fury Road screenwriter Nico Lathouris on Furiosa.
