HBO Max Developing ‘The Suicide Squad’ Spin-off ‘Peacemaker’ Series; John Cena & James Gunn Returning

Today, HBO Max announced that they would be developing a spin-off series for The Suicide Squad. The series will be a prequel series based on the character of Peacemaker played by John Cena. Cena is expected to return to the upcoming project leading into The Suicide Squad. Writer and director James Gunn will also be returning for the upcoming series. The series is expected to consist of eight episodes with Gunn directing the first couple The show will explore the origins of Peacemaker, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. Production will begin early 2021 before Gunn helm’s Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
