Today, Deadline announced that actress turned director Olivia Wilde is set to helm another Sony spin-off movie. According to the report, the spin-off will focus on Jessica Drew better known as Spider-Woman. Both Sony and Marvel Studios have the rights to Jessica Drew (just like the Kingpin) but it is still unknown how connected the Sony universe is to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This will be yet another Sony/Marvel film that doesn’t include Spider-Man like Venom and Morbius. Olivia Wilde made her directorial debut with Booksmart and was met with critical acclaim. She was also on the shortlist for Captain Marvel 2 before the gig went to Candyman 2 director Nia DaCosta. Katie Silberman is set to pen the script, with Amy Pascal returning to produce the project for Sony.
