Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that a new live-action G.I.Joe film is in development by Paramount Pictures and Hasbro’s Allspark Productions. The upcoming film will not be a direct sequel but expand upon Henry Golding’s upcoming Snake Eyes origin film. The film will be “an expansion to take the audience deeper into the world of Joe.”

Seberg screenwriters Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse have come on board to pen the script. Transformers & G.I.Joe producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura will return. It’s unlikely this film will feature any actors from the previous films G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra or G.I.Joe: Retaliation like Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, or Bruce Willis
