Mikaela Hoover & Christopher McDonald Round Out ‘Superman’ Cast as Cat Grant & Ron Troupe

Today, a report has revealed that actress Mikaela Hoover and actor Christopher McDonald have joined the cast of James Gunn’s upcoming Superman reboot. Hoover has appeared in multiple James Gunn films, including Super, Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Suicide Squad. She joins the cast as tough-as-nails Daily Planet reporter Cat Grant. McDonald (not the actor from Happy Gilmore) also joined the cast as fellow Daily Planet reporter Ron Troupe. They join fellow Daily Planet actors, including  David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White. Production on the film is currently underway in Atlanta.

Superman is slated to hit theaters on July 11th, 2025
