Gerard Butler Returns For Universal’s ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ Live-Action Movie

Gerard Butler will return to star in Universal Pictures upcoming live-action movie How To Train Your Dragon. Butler voiced the chief Stoick the Vast and the father of Hiccup. The live-action film originally was looking at other actors like Joel Edgerton but was able to circle back around to Butler.

Mason Thames and Nico Parker are set to star as Hiccup and Astrid in the film. Dean DeBlois will also return to write and direct the film. Production was supposed to start late last summer but was pushed to 2024 due to the ongoing WGA & SAG-AFTRA strikes.
