Last month, Jeff Sneider revealed on The InSneider that actress Kaitlyn Dever entered early talks to star in The Last of Us season 2 alongside Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal. She was rumored to star as “fan-favorite villain” Abby from the second game. Dever is best known for her roles in Justified and No One Will Save You. Today, Daniel Ritchman revealed on his Patreon that Dever has officially signed on for the role.
Many fans have hated the character since the second game came out in 2020. Abby is responsible for turning Ellie into more of an anti-hero following the events of the hospital scene from the first game/season. Ellie begins hunting Abby throughout the game after her interaction with Joel. Craig Mazin returns to showrunner alongside the original game director, Neil Druckmann. According to That Hashtag Show, production begins in February 2024 and runs through September 2024 in Vancouver, Canada.
