This week, the long but necessary WGA strike came to an end. Studios are scrambling to get several of their top IP films and television show scripts put into production under the new guidelines. Variety has revealed that Paramount Pictures is looking to polish screenplays for the previously announced Rainbow Six movie and a complete reboot of Star Trek. This comes off the announcement a year ago that the Chris Pine-led Star Trek 4 was in development by the studio. Many of the film’s stars revealed they have never told the studio about another movie (via TrekMovie.com). It’s unknown who has been hired to pen the reboot script, but it looks like Chris Pine and the rest of the USS Enterprise will not return. The studio also has several Star Trek shows currently on Paramount+, including Picard, Star Trek: New Worlds, and Star Trek: Discovery.
