RUMOR: Next ‘Star Wars’ Films Will Be Set During The High Republic Era; 400 Years Before ‘The Skywalker Saga’

Today, Making Star Wars has revealed that the next set of Star Wars films will take place during The High Republic era. This is about 400 years before The Skywalker Saga; with a younger Yoda. As well as the Sith being extinct except for “The Rule of 2”.

This series of films was what Game of Thrones showrunners D.B Weiss and David Benioff was working on before they exited. The series of films won’t be in a traditional trilogy format but expected still to be multiple films.  

Hungarian news site Ziro.hu revealed that a top secret writers room was established at Star Wars Celebration named Project Luminous. This writers room consited of Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older, Cavan Scott and Charles Soule. Where they were set to map out a series od Star Wars films that would be separate yet connected much like the MCU. This High Republic series of films was expected to kick-off that plan.
