Today, Marvel Studios announced the full roster for their upcoming Thunderbolts anti-hero feature film during their D23 panel. The movie was officially announced at San Deigo Comic-Con but was previously revealed to be developed by director Jake Schreier. The film is Marvel’s answer to the previously released DC Comics anti-hero Suicide Squad films.
Many of the projects have slowly been setting up the movie since 2021’s Black Widow with the introduction of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She has gradually developed a new team that will include Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and John Walker (Wyatt Russell). The rest of the roster consists of Red Guardian (David Harbour), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko ) though she was freed of her mind control at the end of Black Widow. Fans had hoped that Frank Castle played once again by Jon Bernthal, would be reintroduced in the film though that looks unlikely for now. We at Knight Edge Media had been informed that Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl) will appear in the film though not part of the team.
Thunderbolts hits theaters July 26th, 2024
