Today, our friends over at The Illuminerdi revealed that DC Comics alongside HBO Max has begun talks with actor Tobias Menzies to play Sinestro in the Green Lantern series. Menzies is best known for his roles on both Game of Thrones, The Crown, and Outlander. With fans praising his work on Outlander as an extremely likable yet despicable character.

We at Knight Edge Media revealed in April that Thaal Sinestro would make an appearance on the show as an ally of the Green Lanterns before his ultimate downfall into a Yellow Lantern. This version of the character will be a “warrior monk” and greatest of all the Lanterns in the show. He has yet to officially sign on but would presumably join Jeremy Irvine as Alan Scott and Finn Wittrock as Guy Gardner. Greg Berlnati will produce the project alongside writers Seth Grahame-Smith & Marc Guggenheim. Production begins later this September.

Green Lantern will stream exclusively on HBO Max
