Today, a new report announced that Marvel Television is developing multiple untitled TV shows for Disney+. This story directly contradicts a report from several weeks ago that said Marvel Television wanted to cut back on any live-action show not named Daredevil (via Collider). The report states that Nova could be a series or a movie, and an X-Men show is in development. After the success of the one-shots Punisher: One Last Kill and Werewolf by Night, they may be looking at developing more Spotlight Presentations than actual television series. A small 1-hour story about Nova would help him integrate into the MCU after his absence in the first four phases.
Fans have also wanted a Heroes for Hire special presentation with Danny Rand and Luke Cage or the infamous Strange Academy series rumored for years (via DanielRPK Patreon). As for X-Men, they could do much smaller teams like X-Factor, Alpha Flight, or even a Weapon X origin story. It’s really limitless and a great way to toe the line between a full show and a full feature film. The studio has yet to announce any future shows or spotlight short films beyond VisionQuest and Daredevil: Born Again.
