Today, a report announced that Marvel Studios had removed Blade from its upcoming slate of films. The film has had a tough time making after Mahershala Ali was announced as the star in 2019. The film has gone through multiple rewrites and had two different directors drop out due to its numerous production false starts. Last we heard, Logan screenwriter Michael Green took a crack at the script and was rumored to be writing a Midnight Sons film, but it was not officially announced. Mia Goth was also attached as the villain Lilith, though it’s unknown if she will stay on now. The film was expected to be delayed from production this fall due to other projects on the current Marvel slate taking precedence. However, it’s unknown now if it will ever move forward. Original Blade actor Weasley Snipes returned to play a variant of the character in this year’s Deadpool & Wolverine.

Blade has no set release date
