DC Studios ‘Lanterns’ Courting Josh Brolin as an Older Hal Jordan

Several months ago, casting began for the upcoming HBO series Lanterns. This series will follow an older Hal Jordan as he trains a younger John Stewart to protect Earth as a new Green Lantern recruit. Today, a report has revealed that DC Studios is courting Josh Brolin for the role of an older Hal Jordan. Brolin is best known for his roles in Dune, Deadpool 2, and Avengers: Infinity War, but his first DC Comics role was in 2010’s Jonah Hex. It seems this Hal Jordan may be more jaded & grumpy than the wise-cracking version from the comics with Brolin considered for the role. Production will begin on the massive sci-fi series in early 2025. It will be showrun by Chris Mundy with help from Damon Lindelof and Tom King.

Lanterns has no set release date
