Today, while speaking on the red carpet for his latest film, Samuel L. Jackson revealed he will return as Nick Fury in Avengers: Secret Wars. He confirmed he won’t be in Avengers: Doomsday, but the next one, though, he doesn’t know the story yet: “I have no idea. [Marvel] hasn’t told me anything, other than, ‘You’re not gonna be in this movie. You’ll be in the next.'”
Nick Fury was last pretty much M.I.A since Avengers: Endgame and throughout the Multiverse Saga. He did return for the critically panned 2023 series Secret Invasion that most fans hated. It’s unknown whether Marvel Studios will retcon the show as if it never happened. That could also leave the door open for Cobie Smulders to return from the dead as Agent Maria Hill, or for Don Cheadle to return as James Rhodes instead of a secret Skrull. However, that is all pure speculation. Production will return to the UK soon on the next team-up film.
