Over the last month, news about The Daniels’ next secret film has been slowly coming out as Universal Pictures preps for production. The duo has been a hot name for their next film after the critically acclaimed 2022 film Everything Everywhere All at Once and their work on episodes of Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew for Lucasfilm. Their next untitled film will star Matt Damon (The Odyssey, Jason Bourne), John Leguizamo (The Odyssey), Charles Melton (Beef, Naruto), and Sandra Oh (Invincible). It will also feature Silvia Dionicio (Task), Jackson Kelly (Imperfect Women), Kerrice Brooks (My Old Ass), and Thalia Dudek (Better Man).

We have now learned it’s a knockoff Power Rangers-type film set in the 1980s, with each character as a specific-colored hero. Damon will play a version of the “Red Ranger,” Melton is the “Blue Ranger,” a male “Pink Ranger,” and Sandra Oh is a version of “Zordon.” However, due to obvious rights issues with Saban, they will be unnamed throughout the film. The film will also feature a younger teenage cast as they deal with global warming and time travel, similar to Captain Planet. Production is now underway in LA, and it is still untitled (via TMZ).

The Daniel’s untitled event film is set to hit theaters on November 19th, 2027
