The God of War live-action series has been in production in Vancouver since early February. They originally cast Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy) and Callum Vinson (Crystal Lake) in the two lead roles of Kratos and his son Atreus. However, in early July, Hurst suffered a tear on his bicep while performing a stunt for the streaming series (via TMZ). He was forced to have surgery, and recovery on the arm could take about a year. The studio announced they plan on recasting Hurst as Kratos and, unfortunately, due to his age, will be forced to recast Atreus (via Polygon). They will re-film their scenes with the new actors and repurpose previously filmed scenes with the rest of the cast. Currently, the entire production is on hiatus. No official casting has been announced yet.
