Today, a report announced that American actor Michael Johnston has entered talks to join the cast of The Mummy sequel. His role is being kept under wraps, but many speculate that Johnston will be playing Rick O’Connell’s and Evelyn Carnahan’s son from The Mummy 2 (since the third film will no longer be canon). However, in that film, their son had a British accent. Johnston appeared in MTV’s Teen Wolf but became a household name after starring in this year’s horror phenomenon Obsession. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are both returning to star in the film. Radio Silence (Scream 5, Ready or Not) is set to direct the film with a screenplay by David Coggeshall. Production is expected to begin next month.
The Mummy sequel will hit theaters on October 15th, 2027
