Today, a report announced that Sony Pictures has entered early development on an animated Venom film. The project is currently being helmed by the directing duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. The duo recently worked on revamping the Final Destination franchise with last year’s Final Destination: Bloodlines. Tom Hardy is expected to produce the project alongside long-time Spider-Man producers Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach. It’s possible he may return to voice the character after playing him in three live-action movies, but that is unknown at this point. No writer is attached to the project at this time. Several years ago, a rumor began circulating that Seth Rogen wanted to write a hard-R Venom animated movie, though that was never announced (via Geek Tyrant).
