Last week, Sony Pictures bosses Damien de Froberville and Kristine Belson briefly confirmed a Spider-Gwen animated movie was in early development. When asked, “Do we have writers yet on the Spider-Punk or Spider-Gwen spinoffs?” Kristine Belson said, “I’m not allowed to say. But we are active on both.” The Spider-Punk film was previously announced with Across the Spider-Verse actor Daniel Kaluuya (Black Panther) returning to write and possibly voice. It’s currently unclear whether this Spider-Gwen film will be a spin-off of Into the Spider-Verse or its own thing. It’s also unknown if Hailee Steinfeld (Pitch Perfect, Sinners) will return to voice the character in the film. No director or writer has been announced yet.
