Over the summer, there had been rumors that actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson had secretly shot scenes for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping prequel. Today, those reports have been confirmed as the duo will return to cameo as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, heroes of District 12. The two characters make a cameo appearance in the prequel novel following the events of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, telling their children the story of their mentor Haymitch Abernathey and the 50th Hunger Games. Production on the prequel already concluded earlier this fall in Germany.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping hits theaters on November 20th, 2026
