Today, a report announced that actor Jeremy Irons has joined the cast of the upcoming Highlander remake. Irons is best known for his roles in The Lion King, Kingdom of Heaven, and HBO’s Watchmen TV series. He joins the previously announced cast, which includes Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Djimon Hounsou, and Karen Gillan. Irons is set to star as the movie’s second antagonist after Bautista as The Kurgen. Production was expected to begin this month, but was pushed back to early 2026 due to a stunt training accident with Cavill (via Deadline). Chad Stahelski is still attached to direct the film.
