Today, a report announced that Scottish actress Karen Gillan has joined the ever-growing cast of Amazon MGM’s Highlander live-action reboot. Gillen is best known for appearing as Nebula in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, but also appeared in Doctor Who and the Jumanji reboots. Gillan is set to play Heather, Connor MacLeod’s (Cavill) mortal wife and the love of his life. She joins the cast of Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, and Dave Baustia. Chad Stahelski is still tapped to direct the film, with a screenplay by Michael Finch. Production begins towards the end of September.
