Today, Avatar Studios and Paramount Pictures have pushed the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender animated movie, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, again to October 9th, 2026. This would be the second delay on the film after it was initially slated to hit theaters on October 20th, 2025, before getting pushed to January 30th, 2026. This explains why Studio Mir announced this week that it has taken over working on the film after Flying Bark Animation had already worked on it since 2022. It also explains why the film would be featured at Annecy Animation Festival this June before getting secretly pulled after its original announcement. The cast includes Eric Nam as the voice of Avatar Aang alongside Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka, Dionne Quan as Toph, and Dave Bautista as the villain. Steven Yeun also has a significant role in an unknown role.
