Today, Lionsgate announced that actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Harrison is best known for voicing Scar in the latest Mufasa prequel movie. He has also appeared in Chevalier, Elvis, and The Trial of the Chicago 7.
He is set to play a younger Beetee Latier, the winner of the 34th Hunger Games. Jeffery Wright originally played the role in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He joins Joseph Zada as Haymitch Abernathy, Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove Baird, McKenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, and Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee. Production begins this summer in Germany.
