Today, Knight Edge Media has exclusively learned that Hawaiian-born actress Mapuana Makia will appear in Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2. Makia is best known for her role as Noelani Nakayama on Disney’s Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. It’s unknown what role she will play at this time, but she is expected to have a recurring role throughout season 2.
This will be the second Hawaiian or Samoan actor to join the cast after Kelemete Misipeka was announced as The Boulder in November. We have also learned that actor Victor Lau (Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies) will appear in episode four in a minor role and that actress Tina Pham (Invasion) will have a minor role in the season finale. Production on season 2 ended a week ago in Vancouver, but season 3 will begin production in late May.
Avatar: The Last Airbender will return to Netflix sometime in 2026
