Today, a report announced that the upcoming Pacific Rim TV Series will stream exclusively on Prime Video. The project was announced back in 2024 after two feature films were released in the early 2010s. Along with Amazon MGM, Legendary Pictures will produce the upcoming prequel series. As previously announced, Eric Heisserer will serve as showrunner. He is best known for showrunning Shadow & Bone on Netflix, but also penned such feature films as Nightmare on Elm Street, Lights Out, and Arrival. No production date has been set yet, but the report mentions that more films could be developed.
