Today, the cast and crew for the Ahsoka TV series appeared at Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. Those who came on stage included showrunner Dave Filoni, producer Jon Favreau, and star Rosario Dawson. The three confirm that Rory McCann has taken over Baylan Skoll’s role from the late Ray Stevenson. They reveal that Filoni has written every episode of the show as he did in season 1, and the show will be eight episodes long. Finally, the trio introduces Hayden Christensen to the crowd and confirms he will return as Anakin Skywalker again.

Christensen previously appeared in season 1 as a flashback Anakin Skywalker with a young Ahsoka Tano (played by Ariana Greenblatt). It’s long been rumored that another similar flashback sequence could appear in season 2 with Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka, though Ewan McGregor has yet to be officially announced as returning. Production begins next week on the second and final season.

Ahsoka will stream exclusively on Disney+ sometime in late 2026
