Over Christmas, Netflix released the second season of their 2021 smash-hot Squid Game out of South Korea. The series was long-shopped around by showrunner Hwang Dong-hyuk before landing on the streaming service. Now, while the second season only spanned seven episodes, the service has already announced that a third and final season is coming. Ironically, star Lee Jung-jae teased earlier in December that they already shot season 3 (via YouTube). A Netflix subsidiary YouTube account may have leaked the third season’s release, which will arrive on June 27th. However, that has yet to be confirmed by the streaming service as they have only said it’s sometime in 2025.
