Today, Marvel Studios held their world-famous Hall H presentation at San Deigo Comic-Con. After featuring two new trailers for Captain America: Brave New World and the Thunderbolts (which you can read about here), the studio switched gears to Marvel’s First Family, The Fantastic Four. The director, Matt Shakman, at first was brought on stage with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. The director explained the different scientific and mechanical research that went into the film to bring a retro-futuristic world to life. They then brought the entire cast on stage to reveal while production officially begins next week in London; they spent the last week filming an exclusive concept trailer for the Hall H attendees.
The footage includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. The footage looked like stock film of Walt Disney from the 1950’s and 60’s (as that’s what Pedro Pascal sounds very much like). He is teaching a class of children about the atomic age and space travel. The four have scenes getting ready as astronauts about to be launched into space. As well as several shots of retro-future New York City. Finally, the clip ends with Galactus appearing through a skyscraper before the new subtitle is revealed on screen “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”.
The cast members and Hall H cheered at the trailer as Kevin Feige announced the cast was headed back to London to begin production on the film officially. He jokes they need to take the Fantasticar back before a real-life-sized Fantasticar begins flying over the heads of the anteendess towards the stage. Feige also confirms the Fantastic Four will return for both Avenger films.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters on July 25th, 2025
