Today, a report went out that esteemed actress Sigourney Weaver has entered talks to join the cast of The Mandalorian & Grogu for Lucasfilm. Weaver is best known for her classic heroine role in the Alien franchise and, most recently, in James Cameron’s AVATAR saga. She also appeared in the disappointing Netflix series The Defenders as the leader of The Hand. Her role in the upcoming Star Wars feature film is being kept under wraps. The film will be directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Lion King) and is expected to begin production later this year. Pedro Pascal is expected to return as The Mandalorian, though he will mostly only appear in scenes where the bounty hunter removes his helmet.

The Mandalorian & Grogu is expected to hit theaters on May 22nd, 2026
