Today, a report has gone out that actor Jeremy Renner has joined the ensemble cast of the Knives Out sequel, Wake Up Dead Man. The actor had a near-death experience in early 2023 when a snow plow ran over his body when he tried to save his nephew (via Variety). Renner has made a remarkable recovery and is starting to get roles again after appearing in many high-profile movies like Bourne Legacy, Mission Impossible, and The Avengers.
It’s unknown who the actor will play in the modern mystery film, but he could simply be playing himself after his real-life hot sauce bottles were mentioned in the previous film, Glass Onion. He joins Glenn Close (101 Dalmatians), Kerry Washington (Django Unchained), Andrew Scott (1917), Josh O’Connor (The Crown), and Cailee Spaeny (Civil War). Daniel Craig will also return as the master detective Benoit Blanc. Rian Johnson returns to write and direct the upcoming sequel.
