Today, Deadline announced that production on Lionsgate’s upcoming Highlander reboot is expected to commence sometime in early 2024. This is a surprise as the current SAG-AFTRA strike is ongoing in Hollywood, halting all productions. The reboot has been in limbo for quite some time but already had Henry Cavill attached to star from director Chad Stahelski. Stahelski has mentioned maybe returning for another John Wick film (even though he died) and is also attached to the adaption of Ghost of Tsushima. The estimated budget for Highlander is around $100 million in line with the recent John Wick films. Joshua Davis, Neal H. Moritz, Stahelski (thru his 87Eleven Entertainment production company) and Louise Rosner are all set to produce the film.
