Today, Warner Brothers announced several high-profile films have moved from late 2023 into early 2024 due to the ongoing WGA and SAG strikes in Hollywood. Dune: Part Two has moved from November 3rd to March 15th, 2024. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire was forced to move from March 15th, 2024, to April 12th, 2026. Which unfortunately means Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim will move from April 2024 to December 13th, 2024.
Several other WB projects will stay at their current 2023 dates, including Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, Wonka and The Color Purple. Aquaman 2 hits December 20th, Wonka hits December 15th, and The Color Purple will hit Christmas Day. With Dune now moving into 2024, IMAX will have an extended run for The Marvels, though the team-up film from Marvel Studios could also move amidst the ongoing strikes.
