Breakout Star Ayo Edebiri Joins Marvel Studios ‘Thunderbolts’ In Secret Role

Today, Variety announced that actress Ayo Edebiri has joined the cast of Marvel Studios Thunderbolts in a mystery role. She is best known for her breakout performance on FX’s The Bear in 2022. The anti-hero team-up movie currently stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Sebastian Stan returning as Bucky Barnes. Harrison Ford and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will also appear as Thunderbolt Ross and Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine.

Jake Schreier will helm the project from a screenplay by Eric Pearson. The team is expected to go up against the powerful Marvel Comics character Sentry. We at Knight Edge Media revealed several actors Marvel was looking at in the role, including Alexander Skarsgård.  Production begins this June in Atlanta after Captain America: New World Order completes production.

Thunderbolts is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26th, 2024
