Today, Deadline announced that Kojima Productions will develop its first feature film based on Hideo Kojima‘s 2019 video game Death Stranding. The original game featured an all-star cast including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Guillermo del Toro, and Margaret Qualley. They will team up with Barbarian executive producer Alex Lebovici under his Hammerstone Studios production banner. “I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios. This is a pivotal moment for the franchise, and I’m really looking forward to collaborating with them in bringing DEATH STRANDING to the big screen,” said Kojima. No writer or director has been attached, but it has entered active development. It’s also unknown if any original cast will appear in the film, but it is expected to expand on the original storyline.
