Recently, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Legendary Pictures will be developing a Duke Nukem live-action film. A film has long been trying to get off the ground since the video game character debuted in the 1990s. Cobra Kai creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg have all boarded the project to produce.

In 2018, John Cena was attached to a star in a feature film but that version seemed to have stalled. We at Knight Edge Media had heard in 2020 that a Duke Nukem project had been put into early development and assumed it was the previously announced John Cena version. While Cena could still board this new version it is currently unclear. However, many of his fans are already fancasting him for the newer version. No director or writer has been attached just yet.
