‘Blue Beetle’ Casting Call Goes Out For Jamie Reyes Aunts (EXCLUSIVE)

Production on the upcoming Blue Beetle film has been underway for over a month. Set photos even leaked with star Xolo Maridueña as Jamie Reyes on Just Jared. However, as production has since moved to Puerto Rico to continue a new casting call has gone out. We at Knight Edge Media can exclusively confirm that DC Films is looking for two women to play Jamie’s Tia’s : 

[TIA MARU] – Character is female presenting, 30s-40s, Spanish speaker, to play Mexican, Friendly young Aunt. Welcomes her nephew back.

[TIA LETTY ] – Character is female presenting, 50- 60s, Spanish speaker, to play Mexican, Friendly Aunt who likes to dance.

Filming for these two roles will begin the week of July 4th in Puerto Rico. Angel Manuel Soto is directing the film with a screenplay from Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.

Blue Beetle will hit theaters August 18, 2023
