Jason Momoa Set To Lead In ‘Minecraft’ For Warner Brothers

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that actor Jason Momoa has been cast in Warner Brothers’ upcoming video game adaption of Minecraft. The film is set to be directed by Napoleon Dynamite filmmaker Jared Hess. At one point, Free Guy director Shawn Levy and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia writer Rob McElhenney was attached to direct. The popular video game is most popular with pre-teens as they build (or mine) massive pixelated worlds. Mary Parent and Roy Lee will produce the project after producing Dune for the studio. Jon Berg, Cale Boyter, and Jon Spaihts all serve as Executive Producers.

Minecraft has no set release date.
