Paramount’s ‘Star Trek 4’ Begins Filming Later in 2022 with Chris Pine & Zachary Quinto Returning

Today, during the Paramount Pictures Investor Day event, the long-in-development Star Trek sequel will finally begin production. Producer and original director JJ Abrams appeared on screen to announce the upcoming film is finally beginning filming later this year. Last year WandaVision director Matt Shakman boarded the project with a script by Josh Friedman and Cameron Squires. Finally, the original cast from the original trilogy is expected to return including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, and John Cho.

Star Trek 4 will hit theaters on December 22, 2023
