Recently, it has been complete radio silence by Netflix & Rideback Productions regarding their live-action adaption of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The original show creators Bryan Konietzko & Mike DiMartino exited the project last August due to creative differences with the streaming service. However, they have since gone on to create Avatar Studios for Paramount+ to continue writing stories within the Avatar animated universe. It was then revealed that Nikita writer Albert Kim had boarded the live-action project as the new showrunner.

Now we at Knight Edge Media have discovered a recent production listing updated March 11th for the series. It indicates the show is starting to pick up steam as production is expected to begin sometime this August. Back in late 2019 original Toph voice actor, Jessie Flower revealed that the original show creators were looking to film the project in Canada. However, that was also before Hollywood shut down due to the COVID-19 outbreak. It’s unknown if the streaming service will still stick with that location as COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease up. No cast has been revealed yet.
