Director Jon Watts Will Helm Marvel Studios ‘Fantastic Four’

F4 Disney Investor DayBanner1

Today, Kevin Feige announced that Marvel Studios has officially begun pre-production on Marvel’s First Family. During the Disney Investors Day presentation, the producer announced that the rebooted Fantastic Four will finally enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This comes off the Disney-Fox merger of last year that allowed the Fantastic Four and X-Men to legally be used by the studio.

The producer also went onto reveal that Cop Car and Spider-Man: Far From Home director Jon Watts will be helming the project for the studio. It’s surprising that Ant-Man director Peyton Reed wasn’t picked as Reed tried to direct the Jessica Alba & Chris Evans Fantastic Four back in 2005. With all the multiverse plots being set up in Spider-Man 3 it’s interesting if that film will give us our look into marvel’s First Family…

Fantastic Four has no set release date
